Tyrone Ferguson (B. Nassau, The Bahamas)
Tyrone Ferguson has been making art for as long as he can remember. He has harnessed professional training in welding, direct metal fabrication, and machine shop work into the practice of a blacksmithing craft, which can only be gleaned through long years of apprenticeship. Known for an imaginative approach to functional items such as doors, gates, railing panels, furniture, chandeliers and signage, he has developed his own style of hammered, forged and sculptural work in iron, bronze, copper, stainless steel, aluminum and found materials. His work can be found in numerous private collections and public spaces in the Bahamas, Europe, Canada, the United States, and various other countries.
Tyrone is also an ordained minister, practicing a multi-denomination belief system that combines eastern and western spiritual concepts, developed on the foundation that no one belief system holds the true pathway to personal development and spiritual growth. He conducts private personal development workshops, helping others to reduce the noise in their lives, reflecting on their own unique set of needs in order to create a personal working spirituality of their own. These workshops may include creative development sessions, music as a pathway to inner peace, breath work, and meditation, and designing personal spaces for rituals.
